2009 Plano Fun Ride Details

The Plano Fun Ride is a bicycle ride for children and their families on August 1st, 2009 at 8:00 am at Oak Point Park in Plano.  Line up and on-site registration begins at 6:30 am, so don't be late!

All proceeds benefit the Relief Nursery of Collin County, a child abuse prevention program, and the Plano Children’s Medical Clinic, a clinic that serves Medicaid and low-income children. 

There are 2 routes this year; 5 mile and 10 mile courses for families and a bicycle rodeo for little kids. While the Plano Police will be on hand, all riders are expected to follow the normal traffic rules.  There will be four (4) rest stops along the way stocked with drinks, fruit and cookies.  One rest stop will have massage therapists and a chiropractor on hand in case you need to work out the kinks.

The Plano Police Department Crime Prevention Unit will be on hand for free bike etching in addition to hosting a bike rodeo for the real little ones.  The Plano Fire Department will be there with a Fire Engine, Sparky, and other fun and informative activities.

A nurses first aid station will be onsite, provided by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Plano.

There will be fun stuff on hand from our area McDonald's.

Also, the Plano Early Lions Club will be on hand to collect your unused eye glasses for those in need.

Come on out with the family and enjoy some outdoor time with each other and your neighbors, and help out two worthwhile charitable organizations at the same time!
